I'm so excited to share this gorgeous wedding with you all! You're going to love their country club portraits and riverside wedding ceremony.

This wedding day was nothing short of stunning! Katherine and Torin's love story is straight out of a fairytale storybook. I'm so happy that I was able to witness this wonderful beginning to their next chapter!

The wedding ceremony took place inside Riverside Community Church which overlooks the Rock River. There were friends and family from across country joined to witness the exchange of the bride and groom's vows. Family speakers, singers and pianist all gave rich contributions of blessings and songs to the ceremony. The reception followed at the Forest Hills Country Club. And I can simply state the party which followed was absolutely grande!

Val and Ron's love is radiant and palpable. You can feel their love through their images. ❤️

This wedding was an absolute picturesque summer event! The beautiful bride and groom beamed throughout the day and enjoyed every moment from sunrise to sunset. The couple's outdoor ceremony was nestled within beds of vibrant flowers and a tranquil waterfall backdrop located just off the first tee box. Their vows to each other were witnessed by family and friends who continued the celebration into the night within The Red Barn's beautiful pavilion.

Knowing Val for many years through showing horses I was excited to have spent this day learning even more about her and Ron, from their treasured core friendships to their newly blended families. These two truly treasure the people in their lives. I'm extremely honored to have been with them to witness and capture their wedding day!

These two are the sweetest couple to work with and mark the end of my 2018 season! They made the trip back to Rockford, IL for their engagement session... back to the place where their love story began! They're both History buffs and enjoy era reenactments. On a spring day at the Midway Museum the two first saw each other. I love hearing about a couple's love story and learning how two lives can forever be changed by a single passing glance. It was a few sightings later and a consistent "gravitational pull", as Chris calls it, when the two were officially introduced and since they've always been together.

I love when couples come back to sentimental places to capture their engagement photos. The winter weather was crisp and dry and these two just glowed in the frigid temps!

Here are some of my favorites with Sarah and Chris and I can't wait for your wedding day!

The weather has not been very cooperative this season. We've had heat, cold, rain, sleet and snow all in the matter of weeks. When Korbyn traveled back from NC days prior to the ceremony, weather forecasters were calling for a cool rainy day. As luck would have it, warmer weather, a little drizzle and the peeking sun all blessed Korbyn and Charle's wedding day!

Charles is active in the Marines (Thank you for your service!!) and he and Korbyn now reside in NC. Planning their wedding long distance was not easy but all of the details turned out beautifully. Florals complemented the burgundy accents and bridesmaid dresses. Korbyn was flawless wearing a Vera Wang blush dress during the ceremony and white lace Oleg Casinni dress for her reception. Both were stunning! Many family and friends joined in to celebrate the two's saying 'I do". The day was nothing short of an amazing celebration of these two and their love for each other.

Want to know the definition of party? Ali and Nic's wedding would be the answer. It. Was. Epic.

The happy celebration was a consistent vibe throughout the day. All the details were on pointe and the venue was a spectacular backdrop to highlight and host them. And, Ali was absolutely a stunning bride!

Three hundred family members and guests surrounded these two with a showing of love and support and celebrated a new journey that's beginning for this couple. Elvis made an appearance to pay tribute to the fond memories of family who attend in spirit. The whole day was a beautiful celebration of these two and I was so very honored to be able to witness and capture their day. I felt so incredibly welcomed from the time I arrived and I'm so thankful for families who are welcoming and make me feel a part of their world!

In the early evening of a late summer Friday, Elizabeth and Ryan said "I do" in front of their family and close friends. Nothing is sweeter than an intimate ceremony overflowing with love and support from those closest to your heart and this wedding definitely overflowed with all the heart-tugging feels! Their evening began with the beautiful ceremony held downstairs at Midway Village's 1905 Barn. The harpist's music filled the barn while Elizabeth's father walked her down the aisle to meet Ryan. Doesn't that sound magical? It certainly was!

A reception followed upstairs in the barn's loft. Toasts were made and guests enjoyed foods and treats catered by Mary's Market.

I am so honored to have spent this special evening with Elizabeth and Ryan. Congratulations to you both!!

Excitement.

Brittany had contacted me almost a year ago to work with her and Daniel for their fall 2019 wedding. Brittany is an uber organized gal which I completely admire those whom are so prompt and who, overall, are seemingly always prepared! So, in early 2018 we made plans and set a date to have their engagement session this September.

Their Story.

These two lovebirds have been together since 2007 meeting just out of high school. Brittany knew Daniel was the one for her when moment after moment and, as time moved forward, she still has those same warm and fuzzy feelings for him as from when they first began dating.

A year ago this past June, Daniel planned a date for their mutual day off work. He took Brittany on a trip to the Chicago Botanical Gardens. The day was grey with drizzle and light rain. After walking around the park together in the rain (umbrellas were not packed) for over an hour, Brittany decided she wanted to visit one more unique spot shown on the garden map before she was ready to leave. Near a gazebo overlooking a pond, Daniel surprised Brittany by dropping down on his knee and proposing!

Current Situation.

We made plans to meet at the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, WI. With an absolutely gorgeous parade of flowers, waterscapes and pruned English and Japanese garden zones, the park has similarities to the spot in which these two became engaged. The forecast, though, would not bend. Offering only snippets of partial sun callings throughout the afternoon and with proof of non-stop rain days in the recent past, we went for it anyhow. And I never have seen fate unfold quite as perfectly.

I followed Brittany and Daniel through the puddles and drizzle as we found nooks and foliage covers to stop in for photo opportunities. They explored and they enjoyed the opportunities showers can bring. These two beam when they're together! This is an exciting season in Brittany and Daniel's lives and I'm so happy that I could get to know them better and capture this beautiful, reminiscent afternoon with them! I'm looking forward to their wedding next September!

I have so many new favorites from our time together!

Ashlee and Jasper | Best Friend and Cuddler!

There's something completely magnetic about the Human and Canine Bond. The connection between Ashlee and her 10 year old Dalmatian, Jasper, is evident how strong of a connection that bond can be. Jasper has recently had some complications with diabetes and has lost much of his sight. He and Ashlee have spent time acclimating him to his changing environment and this senior boy is just blossoming! Jasp still enjoys rides in the jeep and jaunts in the park. And all the cuddles!

Thank you for having me spend time with you, Ashlee, to capture these memories of you and Jasper. The evening was hot, sticky and fur was flying but it was nothing short of a fantastic time!

Meeting Mariah and Andrew on their wedding day was both exciting and edgy emotions for me all balled together. Their wedding day was the first time I got to finally meet them in person! And! their wedding day included all the beauty, emotion and fun that I fully expected to experience with these two by our long distance talks we had over the months leading to their wedding day!

These two have been residing in Alabama while obtaining their graduate degrees, chasing dreams, making plans and generally rocking life goals. Rockford/Roscoe is their hometown and where their family and friends joined in to participate in their beautiful wedding celebration.

There were so many touching points to their day but I have two favorite highlights that I thought were so touching. Andrew's mother (and pastor) officially pronouncing the marriage of her son and daughter-in-law. Secondly, the emotional and tear-jerking dance to The Head and The Heart's "Rivers and Roads" where nearly the entire room was on the dance floor surrounding the couple and dancing to the song. So many wonderful memories to begin your new season of life together! Enjoy Key West, and enjoy your new beginnings together in your new home in Wyoming!

Ali and Nic are one of the sweetest couples I've had the pleasure to meet. They're both in the education field and love working with children, reading sci-fi/adventure books and catching up on their favorite shows and movies. Traveling to destination vacations and creating new adventures together are high on their agendas when spending time together and when not chilling at home cuddling on their couch with Zeus. Ali and Nic's kind heartedness and matching sense of humor play seamlessly together (Ali - Nic definitely noted your first date included the HS football game because "Ali loves sports!" haha!!).

Their story began in small-town Rockton's local bar, Rookies, where they initially met while out with friends and family in 2015. Ali explains she has a love for all things tiki bar related and on their recent family vacation in Florida, on December 31st Nic surprised Ali with a proposal in the most ideal location - a Tiki Bar!! Nic hid the engagement ring in the bar's check holder book and asked Ali to check on the tab total as it wasn't adding up right. Inside, she found a picture of JRR Tolkien's Gollum holding the "One Ring". Nic got down on one knee and asked Ali if she would wear the "One Ring to rule them all"!!

A mutual love of wine and open spaces led us to the McEachran Homestead Winery for their E-Session start. I was able to follow these two around with their "boy" Zeus, capture their laughs and goofy personalities along with their romantic softness that exudes when they're together. We moved onto downtown Rockton to Rookies bar for a quick drink and wondered the streets till close to sunset. A perfect evening for a photographer!!

I'm so excited for Ali and Nic's wedding this October and to spend the day with this incredible couple!!

Aren't they just the cutest! These two arrived a few weeks early but after a week in NICU they're home and doing great with mom and dad! These two are the quietest and happiest babies I've met. And they coo in the most adorable way; like soft lamb purrs to each other!

The sweetest two people, Kaitlyn and Taylor, are two of the biggest Disney fans I've met! They love everything Micky and Minnie and all Disney fun related!! Nothing fit these two better than a destination wedding at Disney World in Ocala September 6th, 2017. They celebrated with close family and a few friends while tying the knot with the help of their favorite characters by their sides!

When these two asked me to attend their hometown reception to capture their extended party with their family and friends I jumped on the opportunity. Their reception was nothing short of a great time! While memories of their Florida fairytale wedding ceremony played during an extended celebration of fun, food, drinks and dancing lasting through out the night!

Kailah + Reid's Country Estate Wedding | Princeton, Illinois

When I arrived to the family's converted corn crib house I instantly fell in love! Kailah and Reid along with their whole extended family welcomed us in and we instantly felt like one of the extended family friends. Kailah previously told me of her goal with having a non-traditional wedding day and her vision shinned in the details she celebrated! The couple's focus was to spend time with together having a shorter ceremony and then lots of fun and time spent with family and friends with an outdoor celebration leading way into the night. I'd say this was accomplished and enjoyed in full!!

The girls readied in the second floor dressing room while the Reid and Jake were about adding finishing touches to all the outdoor activities. The beautiful outdoor ceremony was set against the sunset over Lake Annie. Kailah and Reid said "I do" in front of at least one hundred family members and closest friends.

Nestled nearby the corn crib and lakeside you'd find the cozy stone fireplace enclosed by a screen porch were S'mores beckoned you in for a fireside snack. Just out back of the corn crib, a cozy fire pit offered a casual gathering spot for quieter conversation. Opposite side, the family erected the most awesome stage and lighted dance area where music of Rodeo Drive played throughout the night. Guests were treated to home made BBQ with sides (Kailah, I cannot believe how good your food was. When you found the time to make this I'll forever be amazed) and the yummiest chips catered in from Kramer's Kitchen. Drinks were served barside or draft out of the custom tap built by Reid and his father within an antique truck. How cool is that?

I am honored to have spent this special day with Kailah and Reid. Congratulations to you both!!

Rafia + Ayub | Engaged! A Romantic Garden Proposal

Rafia + Ayub are Engaged!

Ayub contacted me to arrange a surprise proposal to his long time girlfriend, Rafia. He was traveling to town from Chicago and picked the Japanese Gardens in Rockford as THE location for his proposal because of Rafia's love of gardens and parks. And this park is nothing short of a stunning background for a proposal! Ayub's plan involved having Rafia's cousin, Aiyosha, pretend the two cousins were traveling to a work party out of town. When arriving to the park, the two were guided by a park attendant to the intimate pond strolling garden. Here Rafia found her prince awaiting with a floral bouquet and a gorgeous emerald cut engagement ring. In a private setting, Ayub asked and Rafia said YES! and the crowds watching from across the pond cheered on with well wishes for the newly engaged couple!

Amorette and Dale are Married!! They celebrated their big day at the historic Starline Factory in Harvard. IL. This event center is simply beautiful with exposed brick walls, hardwood floor and the industrial decor which fit the bride and grooms style perfectly! Amorette and Dale along with their family and close friends recited their vows and joyfully proclaimed "I Do"! The ceremony was followed by dinner and dancing throughout the evening. Summer weddings are magical and Kendra and Pierce's day was nothing short of spectacular! Their wedding story was a celebration of their love for each other while surrounded by family and friends as they were wed on a beautiful June Saturday afternoon. The ceremony took place at their family farm in a quaint yard enclosed with the most perfect white picket fence, barns and horses in pastures. A backyard party spilled out of the white tents, followed with more music, dancing and celebration.

Kyle returned home from bootcamp and asked Kamilla to be forever his. A week later they made it official and became Mr. and Mrs. Anderson. And a what celebration was to follow! Ms. AvaLynn celebrated her first birthday in big style. You only turn one, once, right!? Her parents surprised her with lifesize stuffed unicorn and she just adored it. Hi Ya'll!

Confession: I'm not southern. I just like the sound of that greeting! Moving on...

One of my New Year Resolutions of 2017 is to begin and utilize my blog site. The whole idea of blogging is not the most exciting prospect for me. I'm not going to pretend to sell to you that I'm a wonderful writer. I'm really quite a bad storyteller ( ask any of my friends) and writing stories feels to me a little like slow torture. I struggle with expressing myself in captivating or funny deliveries. I like to take time to delve all the little details...which can seemingly drag on my stories. Sounds like fun, right!? One of my favorite blogs to see are photographer's recap of their favorite photo's taken over the past year. It's a fun and quick glimpse into a person's individual taste in their photography which I find interesting seeing what a person picks as their own favorite.
